Ethical hacking:
It
is essentially the act of unearthing vulnerabilities in a web based
application before going live so that they can be fixed before being
accessed by anyone.An ethical hacker is a computer and network expert
who attacks a security system on behalf of its owners, seeking
vulnerabilities that a malicious hacker could exploit. To test a
security system, ethical hackers use the same methods as their less
principled counterparts, but report problems instead of taking
advantage of them. Ethical hacking is also known as penetration
testing, intrusion testing and red teaming.
Ethical Hacker – refers to security professional who apply their hacking skills for defensive purposes on behalf of its owners.

Ethical hacker looks for the following four basic questions:
● What information/locations/systems can an intruder gain access?
● What can an intruder see on the target?
● What can an intruder do with available information?
● Does anyone at the target system notice the attempts?
